French electrical-equipment distributor Rexel reported sales of €5,452.9 million in third-quarter results released on 22 October. That represented a 14.6% year-on-year increase on a reported basis. Growth was 11.4% on a constant-currency, same-day basis, which adjusts for calendar-day and exchange-rate changes. The company called the performance its strongest quarter since 2022, a comparison based on Rexel’s own historical results.
Reported sales for the first nine months reached €15,441.8 million, up 6.2% year on year. Growth on a constant-currency, same-day basis was 7.3%. The quarterly and nine-month rates cover different periods and should not be read as the same trend. The company also reports constant-currency actual-day growth separately: the third-quarter rate on that basis was 12.0%.
North America generated €2,756.8 million of third-quarter sales, up 17.4% on a same-day basis. Nine-month regional sales were €7,316.4 million, with growth of 10.6%. Rexel said data centres and industrial automation contributed to the increase in the United States. US sales rose 18.2% on a same-day basis in the quarter; data-centre activity grew at a triple-digit rate and represented about 13% of US sales, according to the company. It did not provide an independent market measurement for that share.
European sales were €2,348.4 million in the quarter, up 4.5% on a same-day basis. Nine-month sales were €7,151.3 million, with growth of 3.2%. In Asia-Pacific, quarterly sales reached €347.6 million and grew 15.8%; the nine-month total was €974.2 million, up 14.9%. These regional rates use the company’s constant-currency, same-day definition.
Rexel calculated that volume contributed 6.3% to quarterly growth, while cable-product prices contributed 2.9% and non-cable products 2.2%. These are components of the company’s sales-growth bridge, not additional growth rates to be added on top of the 11.4% same-day figure. Rexel also said digital sales represented 36% of group sales, a 256-basis-point increase in share from a year earlier.
The company said it had signed an agreement to acquire GCG in the United States, with closing expected by year-end and financing supported by a €500 million capital increase. This describes a signed agreement and an expected closing, not a completed acquisition. Rexel raised its 2026 same-day sales-growth outlook to about 7%, from about 5% previously.
The updated outlook also calls for a current adjusted EBITA margin of at least 6.4% and free-cash-flow conversion above 65%. These are forward-looking company targets. The results show positive growth across Europe and Asia-Pacific alongside acceleration in North America and data-centre demand, but they are not an independent statistic for the entire electrical-equipment distribution market. Rexel’s sales indicators describe its own scale and the company’s stated accounting definitions.
