Nexans reported standard sales of €4,946.7 million for the first nine months of 2026 in financial information released on 22 October. The group said reported sales rose 10.1% year on year, while organic growth was 3.9%. The scope effect from acquisitions was 5.6% and the currency effect was 0.6%. The company said its standard-sales calculation used a copper reference price of €5,000 per tonne.
Sales in July through September reached €1,698.2 million, up 21.4% from a year earlier. Organic growth on a same-day basis was 9%. Reported growth and organic growth are different measures: Nexans attributed 9.6% of the quarter’s total increase to acquisition scope and 2.8% to foreign exchange. The distinction helps separate revenue growth associated with acquired businesses from developments in the underlying operations.
The electrification businesses generated €4,345.6 million in sales over nine months, a reported increase of 12.9% and organic growth of 5.3%. PWR-Grid sales were €1,065.8 million, with organic growth of 8.1%. The company said organic growth in that business reached 14.8% in the third quarter, supported by seasonal activity in Europe, additional production capacity, framework agreements with utilities and data-centre demand.
PWR-Connect recorded €2,124.7 million in standard sales during the first nine months. The amount was 21.9% higher than a year earlier, including 8.3% organic growth, a 14.5% scope contribution from acquisitions and a negative 0.9% currency effect. Nexans included the comparison-period impact of Republic Wire in the United States, Electro Cables in Canada and Cables RCT in Spain in its scope calculation.
PWR-Transmission sales rose to €1,155 million in the nine-month period, but organic growth declined 1.4%. The company described growth in the segment as normalizing and said a strong 2025 comparison base affected quarterly rates. Adjusted backlog stood at €7.8 billion on 30 September, up 0.7% from the end of June. This stock measure is distinct from sales recorded during the period.
Nexans confirmed 2026 guidance of €770 million to €840 million for adjusted EBITDA and €235 million to €325 million for free cash flow. These ranges are forecasts, not completed results. The company said its outlook does not assume execution of the Great Sea Interconnector in 2026; it includes Republic Wire’s contribution from 1 June and the MI line load at year-end, while excluding any future acquisitions.
The results show why sales, organic growth, currency and acquisition effects need to be read separately even within one company. Nexans also said it plans to invest about €62 million over the coming years to expand medium-voltage accessories capacity in Europe and the United States. That announcement is not evidence that the capacity has already been installed. The period figures measure Nexans’ own commercial activity in cable and grid markets; they are not an independent measure of total industry demand.
