Three cold stores were also turned over in Garchitorena, Lagonoy and Tigaon; San Jose received the fourth store alongside the slaughterhouse. The cold units cost 45.5 million pesos in total. The department separately distributed 79.6 million pesos’ worth of equipment and inputs, including tractors, a harvester, seeds, boats and fishing gear.

The department said the slaughterhouse is expected to serve 1,303 livestock raisers in 29 barangays. A standard store is designed to operate from +1°C to +10°C and combines solar panels, a wind turbine, battery storage and a diesel backup generator. Those are design specifications; actual performance will depend on operation and maintenance.
