Equinor, Petoro and TotalEnergies announced on 14 October that they had made an oil and gas discovery at the Grimsnes exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea. Well 30/8-7 S was drilled in production licence PL 190; the partners’ preliminary recoverable-volume estimate is 19–50 million barrels of oil equivalent (3–8 million standard cubic metres).
Equinor plans to tie the discovery to existing Oseberg Sør subsea infrastructure. The company expects an investment decision as early as next summer and production within three years. These are development expectations, not an approved investment or current output. The estimate is preliminary, and the source places the well about 15 kilometres southwest of the Oseberg Sør platform.
