Norway’s Equinor and Dutch utility Eneco signed a five-year agreement to supply natural gas to the Dutch grid. Equinor said on 13 October that the contract covers around 9 TWh, or approximately 0.9 billion cubic metres, per year; deliveries began on 1 October 2026.

The gas will come from the Norwegian continental shelf, and Eneco will receive verified environmental data on its origin and upstream emissions. Equinor said the contract gas has an 11.8% lower greenhouse-gas footprint than the average gas supplied through the Dutch grid, based on a 2025 lifecycle comparison. This is a company-reported comparison for the contracted gas, not observed future production or deliveries.
