Equinor announced completion of Troll West electrification on October 15. With the first electric gas export compressor commissioned at Troll C, the company expects emissions to fall by about 330,000 tonnes of CO₂ a year.

The estimate is about 75% of the 440,000-tonne annual reduction in the 2021 plan. The second planned electric compressor at Troll C was dropped; Equinor said the decision could make 2.3 billion standard cubic metres of additional gas available in 2027/28.
