The North-East Governors’ Forum issued an 11-point communiqué after its 13th meeting ended in Maiduguri on 3 October. The governors called for electricity supply to be treated as a shared regional agenda and urged states to use solar power and mini-grids under the newer electricity framework.
They agreed to partner with Green Ville Energy on CNG and LNG stations across the region. The communiqué said 10,000 electric tricycles, 10 electric buses and 300 electric taxis supplied through the North East Development Commission were expected to launch later in October. It also proposed a regional air shuttle and called renewed attention to the Port Harcourt–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe–Maiduguri rail corridor.
