The government and Endelevu Enterprise Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding for a proposed US$3 billion electric-mobility ecosystem, Invest Kenya said on 17 October. The plan envisages 50,000 four-wheel vehicles and 100,000 two-wheelers and other light-mobility vehicles.
The proposal also includes 1,000 solar-powered charging hubs. These are targets under an MoU; the release does not confirm financing, a firm timetable or that production has begun. Invest Kenya says about 93% of Kenya’s electricity generation comes from renewable sources.
