Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems Abisola Olusanya said the government was considering grants for student agricultural innovators. Voice of Nigeria reported on 15 October that she raised the proposal during the annual Lagos Agricultural Scholars Quiz.

Olusanya said the programme was exploring direct funding for students with outstanding agricultural concepts so they could start enterprises while still in school. About 30 public schools took part, and Ansar-Ur-Deen Senior High School Falolu won. The report gives no grant amount and does not report approval or distribution of funding.
