Mauritania’s investment agency reports MRU 4.13 billion in declared first-half investment

Mauritania’s Investment Promotion Agency reported MRU 4.13 billion in declared investment and 782 planned direct jobs for the first half of 2026 at its board session on 1 October. The figures are agency activity and declared plans, not realized investment or jobs.

Mauritania’s Investment Promotion Agency (APIM) reviewed its first-half 2026 activity at its 11th board session on 1 October, chaired by Mohameden Bagga at the agency’s headquarters. The agency said it had issued 28 investment certificates and recorded MRU 4.13 billion in declared investment, associated with 782 planned direct jobs.

APIM also reported 1,473 companies registered through its one-stop shop, 16 promotion and prospecting actions, assistance to 292 investors and prospects, and three new partnerships with institutions and funders.

The board reviewed budget execution as of 30 June and follow-up on the auditor’s recommendations, then approved the agenda items. The release describes declared investment and planned employment; it does not say how much investment was realized or how many jobs were created.
