Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) met local authorities in Macina on 5 October to discuss people displaced after attacks on Kelle, Souleye and Touara, according to AMAP. The meeting was chaired by deputy mayor Mamadou Almamy Tangara.
MSF already provides health services at Macina’s referral health centre and community health centre. The organisation said it wanted information on the displaced population’s size, locations and assistance received before directing support, and was considering a mobile team in Macina for three months.
Local officials cited unmet needs including medical care, clothing during the rainy season, food kits, water points, hygiene support, psychosocial assistance and tents for overcrowded schools. The report gives no total for displaced people and does not say that the proposed mobile team has begun work.
