Jordan sets incentives for automotive manufacturing investment
Full assembly projects in Zarqa must invest at least USD 50 million and employ 50 Jordanian workers to qualify for the main package.

Jordan’s Cabinet approved an incentive and exemption package on October 6 to attract vehicle manufacturing and assembly projects to the Zarqa Development Area. Full manufacturing or assembly projects must invest at least USD 50 million and employ at least 50 Jordanian workers. Semi-assembly projects face a USD 20 million minimum investment and the same employment threshold.
The full package includes support covering 70% of electricity prices for five years, a 60% reduction in land prices and support for 75% of container-handling costs at Aqaba Port. The government said benefits rise with the depth of local manufacturing and employment; the announcement did not identify a company investment decision or a factory entering production.
