Jordan’s Agriculture Minister Saeb Khreisat met FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu on October 15 on the sidelines of the World Food Forum. Petra reported that they discussed sustainable agriculture, water efficiency and technology as ways to strengthen food systems amid climate change and water scarcity, as well as expanding the Jordan–FAO partnership.

The meeting also explored how to advance three Jordanian agricultural investment proposals submitted under FAO’s Hand-in-Hand Initiative. Other topics included marketing, reducing post-harvest losses, adding value to products and rural employment. The source does not say the proposals were approved or funded; a smart-agriculture exhibition for early 2027 was described as a plan.
