Jordan reports agricultural self-sufficiency at 62%

Jordan’s agriculture minister, Saeb Khraisat, said self-sufficiency in agricultural products had reached 62%. Petra’s 14 May report attributes the rate to the minister; it does not publish a detailed calculation by product group.

The minister also reported 7.4% growth in the agricultural sector in 2025 and work on digital data systems, including artificial intelligence and precision agriculture. The growth rate refers to 2025, while the self-sufficiency statement was made in 2026.
