The board unanimously approved increasing annual exchange-traded fund sales from about 330 billion yen to about 860 billion yen on a book-value basis. The new pace is due to begin in January 2027. The bank began selling ETFs in January 2026; the announced acceleration is a future change to those operations.
The new ETF pace corresponds to about 0.1% of market trading value, using the bank’s stated calculation. Book-value disposal amounts are distinct from market-value proceeds. Sales can be temporarily adjusted or suspended in response to market conditions, while the planned annual pace for Japanese real-estate investment trusts remains about 5 billion yen on a book-value basis.
