The agency said the operation took place on 16–17 October and targeted an alleged plan to move the consignment by sea to Sri Lanka. It estimated the illicit-market value at more than 1 billion rupees; that figure is an agency estimate. DRI also reported seizing cash and vehicles during searches.

The agency said the four people were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and remanded to judicial custody. Claims about the suspected network and smuggling plan reflect the authorities’ account of the investigation; the arrests do not establish guilt.
