DEWA stated on August 7, 2026 that Hydro Insight analyses readings from more than 1.1 million smart water meters every 15 minutes. Developed internally, the system supports network management and fault monitoring.
The utility reported an 87.5% reduction in data processing time. Hydro Insight entered service in mid-2024, so the August statement was not a new facility opening. The improvement concerns processing speed and should not be interpreted as an equivalent percentage of water saved.
In an IEA scenario, electricity could cost-effectively supply 33 percent of final energy use by 2035; projected import savings are not realized outcomes.
The utility’s long-term plan projects lower emissions despite rising electricity demand; its solar, battery and reverse-osmosis targets are not completed outcomes.
