Mexico’s Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry said Guerrero has sufficient white-corn reserves to support local demand. The government statement tied that assessment to a 2025 harvest of 1,564,134 tonnes in the state.

According to the ministry, about 80% of production is consumed by farming households, while the remaining 20% enters regional and local markets. The government said it was supporting supply for tortilla and masa businesses; its stated MXN 6,000-per-tonne commitment under an agreement is a government claim, not an observed market price.
