The Presidency said continuing rainfall in neighbouring Togo caused the Dayi River to overflow, inundating low-lying areas including Hohoe Zongo and other riverside communities. President John Dramani Mahama visited and presented relief supplies, including more than 2,500 bags of rice weighing 25 kilograms each.

The figures attributed to NADMO—5,140 residents displaced and 412 houses damaged—are preliminary. The release did not give a final damage assessment. It also said Dzata Cement donated 5,000 bags of cement for people whose buildings were affected.
