A WHO-supported initiative strengthened early-warning and reporting capacity for health threats in nine districts across three Ghanaian regions. It trained 551 people.
Of those trained, 271 were health or multisectoral personnel and 280 community informants. Participants learned to flag unusual events through community, health-facility and media channels and to route reports for verification.
The districts reported more community signals and stronger coordination among health, veterinary, emergency-management and local-government actors after training. One report of unusual pig deaths prompted a multisectoral investigation.
