With support from WHO and the National Vaccine Institute, Ghana assessed clinical-trial capacity at 15 public and private research and health institutions. Findings will inform national strategy work.

Institutions used a draft WHO benchmarking tool to assess governance, infrastructure, workforce and quality management. Each institution conducted a self-assessment with technical support from WHO and national institute experts.

All 15 institutions reviewed and validated the findings. They are intended to inform Ghana’s first national clinical-trials strategy; the source does not report that the strategy has been adopted.
