Georgia’s annual inflation reached 5.6% in September

Georgia’s National Statistics Office reported on 2 October that consumer prices rose 0.4% month on month and 5.6% year on year in September. Annual core inflation was 3.7%, or 3.5% excluding tobacco.

The Consumer Price Index rose 0.4% in September 2026 from the previous month and 5.6% from September 2025. Annual core inflation was 3.7%, while the core measure excluding tobacco was 3.5%. Georgia’s National Statistics Office (Geostat) said transport contributed 0.36 percentage points and health 0.22 points to the monthly rate.

Year on year, transport prices increased 18.7%, housing and related items 9.2%, and health 8.0%; the education group declined 12.5%. Monthly and annual changes use different comparison periods. The core measure excludes specified groups under the source’s definition, so it does not have the same coverage as headline CPI.
