Generation Mining announced on October 1 that construction had begun at its wholly owned Marathon copper-palladium project in Ontario. Early site works followed the posting of a $6.5 million construction-phase financial assurance under the project’s filed closure plan.

The early works include access roads, water-management structures, camp upgrades, temporary power and initial earthworks. The company expects initial payments of about C$30 million to secure roughly C$150 million of critical equipment purchases, within the feasibility-study budget and baseline schedule. These are expected commitments, not completed equipment deliveries.
