QNA’s 4 October report attributes the figures to GCC-Stat’s “Outward Workers’ Remittances from the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries, 2025.” It says transfers rose for a second consecutive year after declining in 2023, reaching about $161 billion in 2025; the annual increase was approximately $19 billion.

The report put remittances at about 6.6% of combined GCC GDP in 2025, compared with 6.0% in 2024. QNA explicitly cautions that this ratio alone does not indicate whether economic performance improved or deteriorated. It gave US outward remittances of about $107 billion as a comparison.
