Fujifilm said on October 13 that it will invest $18 million in semiconductor materials production at its Mesa, Arizona site. The project expands capacity for copper interconnect chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) slurries and adds facilities able to make multiple slurry products for front-end, middle-of-line and advanced packaging processes, including hybrid bonding.

The expanded line is scheduled to begin operations in 2027. Fujifilm said the facilities will connect product development at its Arizona CMP research centre with commercial manufacturing; the announcement gives no production-volume target. The investment is a planned capacity expansion, not evidence that the new line is already operating.
