The French government said it plans to participate in mining group Eramet’s planned capital increase and become its largest shareholder. In a 12 October announcement, Eramet confirmed its intention to raise €500 million in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The state would subscribe in line with its existing stake and use preferential subscription rights acquired from long-standing partner Sorame-CEIR. The change in shareholder position and a new pact remain conditional on regulatory approvals, including an exemption from France’s financial markets authority, AMF; the transaction has not been completed.
