EU productivity per employed person rises 0.9% annually

Output per hour worked increased by 0.8% in the second quarter.

EU labour productivity rose by 0.9% per employed person and 0.8% per hour worked year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, Eurostat reported on 7 September. Both measures had increased by 0.4% in the first quarter.

The calculation combines GDP and employment data to measure real output per person or hour. It does not measure wage growth or an individual worker’s performance.
