EU fuel and lubricant prices rise 23.8% annually

The August release also reports monthly changes for diesel and petrol.

EU prices for personal transport fuels and lubricants rose 23.8% year-on-year in August 2026, according to Eurostat’s 22 September release. The annual increase had been 16.9% in July.

Compared with the previous month, diesel prices increased 8.3% and petrol 3.3%. The annual group index and these monthly product changes have different comparison periods and cannot be used interchangeably.
