Ethiopia and World Bank to expand cooperation across four programme areas

Ethiopia and the World Bank discussed wider cooperation on Mission 300, AgriConnect, e-mobility and the Water Forward initiative. No new financing amount was announced.

Ethiopian Finance Minister Ahmed Shide and central bank governor Eyob Tekalign met World Bank Managing Director of Operations Anna Bjerde and regional vice president Ndiamé Diop on 1 October. A Ministry of Finance statement reported by ENA said the sides agreed to deepen cooperation around private-sector-led growth, jobs and economic resilience.

They agreed to expand cooperation in Mission 300, the AgriConnect Compact, the E-Mobility Program and the Water Forward Initiative. The discussions also covered additional financing windows for resilience to climate-related and external shocks, implementation efficiency and the Development Ready Initiative. The report gave no new financing amount or signed project agreement.
