Schneider Electric said on 19 October that it had delivered the electrical and digital backbone for VDX, a vertiport beside Dubai International Airport. WAM reported that the site reached technical completion in April 2026 and was certified for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) operations in July.

The facility is designed for up to 170,000 passengers a year. Schneider expects energy savings of up to 25% once the site is fully operational; that figure is a forecast, not a result from full operations.
