Cleghorn Minerals reported on October 22 that its 2026 field program at the Rocco copper prospect in Quebec had followed an airborne magnetic and very-low-frequency electromagnetic survey with ground mapping and sampling. The project is on the Gaspé Peninsula. The release describes the work as exploration for a possible porphyry copper-skarn system, rather than as a discovery of copper mineralization.

The company says the late-August helicopter survey covered 1,405 line-kilometres. Its preliminary interpretation outlined two intense, circular magnetic anomalies associated with intrusive bodies in calcareous mudrock. Cleghorn calls these high-priority skarn targets. It also describes weaker linear anomalies that cross the regional tectonic fabric and may reflect cross-cutting dykes, fractures or faults. These are interpretations of geophysical patterns, not assays or confirmation of an orebody.

A seven-person prospecting and geological team then spent two weeks following up the anomalies and reported historical occurrences. The company says the team mapped about 80% of the property; the northwest corner was inaccessible. The program included 139 grab or chip rock samples from outcrops and 82 stream-sediment samples. Cleghorn said all analytical results, including petrographic work on the principal intrusive rocks and alteration, were pending when it issued the release.

Rocco comprises 99 mineral claims covering 5,467 hectares in NTS map sheet 22A/11. Cleghorn says forestry roads provide access to most of the ground. The geological interpretation centres on Ordovician shale and calcareous mudrock and Devonian calcareous units separated by the Grande-Rivière Fault, with Silurian-Devonian porphyry dykes of the Lemieux intrusive suite. The company compares that setting with the nearby Gaspé Copper Mountain district, where similar host rocks and intrusions are known. A neighbouring deposit’s geology or resource is not evidence that Rocco contains comparable mineralization.

The release presents the 2026 program as a sequence: airborne geophysics identified targets, field crews checked selected features, and laboratory work is expected to test rock and stream samples for metals and skarn-indicator minerals. That sequence matters because the magnetic response alone cannot establish copper grade or continuity. The stream samples may help trace geochemical signals, while petrography may characterize the intrusions and alteration; neither result was yet available in the announcement.

Cleghorn said IOS Geosciences carried out the field program and that Réjean Girard, a Quebec-licensed geologist, reviewed the technical content as the qualified person. The company also disclosed stock-option grants in the same release, but those are separate from the exploration update. The material project information is the completed survey and field-sampling work, with laboratory outcomes still to come.

Rocco was staked in July 2026, according to the company’s earlier announcement. The October update adds work completed since then: the 1,405-line-kilometre survey, the two interpreted circular anomalies, partial property mapping and the sample inventory. It does not report assay values from the 2026 samples. The next assessment of the targets therefore depends on results and their geological context, rather than on the survey shapes alone.

The release cites the operating history and resource estimates of the separate Gaspé Copper project as regional context. Those figures belong to another property and are not measurements for Rocco, so they are not included in the Rocco data block. For this prospect, the reported figures describe land area, survey coverage and field-sample counts; no current mineral resource or reserve estimate is reported.

Methodology

Values describe work completed or reported at the Rocco prospect in 2026. Sample counts are counts, survey coverage is in kilometres of lines, and mapped coverage is an approximate percentage. Assay results were pending in the release; none are inferred here.
