Of the commitment, C$5 million will fund floating LiDAR buoys to measure wind and ocean conditions, while nearly C$3 million will support Net Zero Atlantic modelling and marine surveys. The data are intended to inform project preparation before a call for bids planned for winter 2027. This is pre-development funding; the announcement does not say that wind farms are under construction or generating power.
