Canadian exports of energy products rose 4.7% in August 2026, their first monthly increase since April, Statistics Canada reported on October 6. The largest monthly gain came from refined petroleum products, whose exports increased 17.4%, with higher diesel shipments to Peru, the United Kingdom, the United States and the Netherlands.

Crude-oil export values rose 2.1%, which the agency attributed to higher prices. Prices for exported refined petroleum products were more than 50% higher than a year earlier. These are monthly trade-value changes; they do not by themselves show a matching increase in physical volumes.
