U.S. propane exports averaged 2 million barrels per day in the first half of 2026, 11% above the same period in 2025. The U.S. Energy Information Administration said April set a monthly record at 2.1 million barrels per day.

Higher domestic production and shifting trade flows, particularly to India and other South Asian markets, supported shipments. Exports to China moved in the opposite direction, falling 19% year over year in the first half. EIA also cited export-capacity limits and Panama Canal transit conditions as potential constraints.
