Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) opened the declaration period for distributors participating in the 2026 A-1, A-2 and A-3 auctions for existing electricity generation. Companies can confirm or amend their purchase-need information through the CCEE platform until 30 October. The ministry said declarations must remain confidential until the bidding process ends.

The three auctions are scheduled to run sequentially on 13 November 2026 and cover electricity from existing generation plants. Supply is set to begin on 1 January 2027 for A-1, 1 January 2028 for A-2 and 1 January 2029 for A-3. The resulting regulated-market contracts will be for energy quantities and last two years.
