Federal revenue totalled R$239.384 billion in September 2026, an increase of 5.62% in real terms and 10.45% nominally from September 2025, when it was R$216.727 billion. The Federal Revenue released the data on 22 October; the Finance Ministry’s page appeared the following day. The difference between nominal and real growth reflects the inflation adjustment used in the official comparison.
From January through September, revenue reached R$2.351 trillion, compared with R$2.105 trillion in the same period a year earlier. Growth was 11.68% nominally and 6.97% in real terms. Revenue administered directly by the Federal Revenue totalled R$231.426 billion in September, up 5.03% in real terms from R$210.702 billion in September 2025. Across nine months, this component reached R$2.250 trillion, 6.89% higher in real terms.
The release identifies an atypical component: R$2.943 billion came from the Export Tax on crude oil, which the Federal Revenue classified among non-recurring factors. That amount equals about 1.2% of the monthly total, calculated from the published figures. Its presence matters when interpreting growth, but the release does not say this item caused the entire monthly increase. Total revenue aggregates taxes and contributions with different bases.
Among indicators for August, which the agency used to contextualize taxable events for September revenue, industrial production fell 1.83% from August 2025; sales of goods rose 0.05% and services sales 0.55%. The wage bill increased 6.01% nominally, while the dollar value of imports rose 4.38%. These are August macroeconomic indicators, not September tax receipts, and their year-on-year comparison is retained as stated in the release.
Corporate income tax and the Social Contribution on Net Profit totalled R$29.820 billion in September, up 1.06% in real terms from the same month of 2025. The note does not provide a complete tax-by-tax breakdown here or a seasonally adjusted figure. The precise reading is therefore that monthly revenue rose in real terms, alongside the composition and context reported by the Federal Revenue; it should not be treated as a direct measure of economic activity or the government’s fiscal balance.
