Brazil opens power-pricing model code, with official use subject to validation
EPE, CCEE and ONS said they placed the code for their jointly owned electricity operations and pricing model in an open repository on 8 October. EPE’s 15 October statement says outside users can inspect and test the software and propose improvements.

The tentative timetable envisages official pricing use in January 2028 if validation and approval succeed; extended validation could defer adoption to January 2029. The first release targets core functions equivalent to NEWAVE and DECOMP. Publishing the code does not mean the model has entered official price formation.
