Blue Energy begins nuclear construction permit filing for Texas project

GE Vernova’s September 16 release reports that Blue Energy submitted the first part of a construction permit application for the initial BWRX-300 at Port of Victoria, Texas. The project proposes combining gas turbines and small modular reactors.

The company expects to submit the remainder in 2027 after site data collection. GE Vernova Hitachi supplies technical information and engineering support. Filing does not establish that a permit has been granted or nuclear construction has begun.
