Studsvik selects partners for planned 1.2 GW Swedish nuclear project

ReFirm envisages four BWRX-300 reactors.

Studsvik, GE Vernova Hitachi and Samsung C&T announced a September 3 agreement to advance Sweden’s ReFirm programme. The initial project envisages four BWRX-300 reactors and approximately 1.2 GW.

A site at Nyköping or Valdemarsvik will be selected during development. The first unit targets operation in the mid-2030s. The agreement starts technical, commercial and financing work; it is not a final investment decision or construction authorization.
