Chile weather weighs on Anglo American’s third-quarter copper output
Anglo American said copper production across its operations fell 5% year on year to 174,900 tonnes in the quarter ended 30 September 2026. The company attributed the decline to severe winter weather in Chile and the use of lower-grade stockpile ore at Collahuasi.

Chile production fell 6% to 94,200 tonnes. Output at Los Bronces rose 2%, while record snowfall and unplanned maintenance affected mining rates and plant operations; Anglo American’s attributable production at Collahuasi declined 11%.
The company kept its 2026 copper production guidance at 700,000–760,000 tonnes. That range is a full-year forecast and is distinct from the production observed in the third quarter.
