Andalusia’s 061 health emergency centre said 12,300 young people received resuscitation training at cardiomarathon events across all eight provinces on October 15 and 16. Its October 18report describes one-hour practical sessions using manikins or simulated patients.

More than 300 volunteer instructors took part, including health professionals, security services, the Red Cross and civil protection. The centre also gave 22 recognitions to people and professionals whose first response helped save lives in actual cardiac-arrest cases.
