The Welsh Government renewed its commitment to ending period poverty and continuing its Period Proud Wales plan on October 11, International Day of the Girl. Its Period Dignity Grant makes period products available in every school in Wales and in community venues including food banks, libraries and leisure centres.

The release also encourages sports and cultural venues and employers to provide free products for staff and visitors, and identifies menstrual health as a priority in the NHS Wales Women’s Health Plan. In Anglesey, every primary school is offered Year 6 lessons on periods and puberty for all pupils, regardless of gender. The project also includes staff training, parents’ evenings and sustainable product starter packs.
