The World Bank and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) signed a new Co-Financing Framework Agreement on October 13 during the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok. It aims to expand joint investment in rural transformation and food systems and support resilience, entrepreneurship and employment.

The framework enables common arrangements for technical support, procurement, financial management, disbursement and environmental and social oversight. Its initial term is five years, with automatic renewal for another five years. Each institution retains its policies, financing decisions and accountability requirements; the announcement gives no specific new investment total for this agreement.
