Uzbekistan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a new partnership program on 6 October for 2026–2030. It covers 15 prospective projects in transport and energy infrastructure, human-capital development, healthcare, agriculture, private-sector support and green growth.

Investment, Industry and Trade Minister Laziz Kudratov met JICA Senior Vice President Katsura Miyazaki to discuss existing cooperation and preparation of new projects. The ministry said the meeting also focused on free economic zones and JICA's technical support for their master plans and efforts to attract foreign, including Japanese, investment.
