The UN Environment Programme and Climate and Clean Air Coalition said in their 7 September Hidden Assets report that investments tackling climate change and air pollution together could generate about US$15 in economic benefits per US$1 invested. The assessment includes market and non-market gains.

UNEP said the analysis found greater benefits from combining climate and clean-air policies than from pursuing them separately. The ratio is the report’s economic assessment, not a guaranteed return for every project or country.
