Uma Lagne Energy Holdings filed a notice of intent on 1 October for its Buckeye Hydrokinetic PHX5 Project. It proposes one 5-kW modular hydrokinetic turbine along the Buckeye Main Canal, operated by the Buckeye Water Conservation and Drainage District in Maricopa County, Arizona.

FERC staff preliminarily found the project would not change the canal’s agricultural water-delivery purpose and meets qualifying conduit hydropower criteria. Such a qualifying facility does not require a licence or licensing exemption. Comments and intervention motions are due by 16 November 2026.
