UAE Energy and Infrastructure Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei said on September 1 that the country had raised its clean-energy target to 35% by 2030–2031. The target covers nuclear and renewable energy.

The minister said reaching it would require new projects, stronger competition and wider private-sector participation in power generation. The statement gave no current clean-energy share or interim milestones; 35% is a government target, not a measured result.
