Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) announced on October 12 that registration had opened for its fourth-quarter 2026 Clean Energy Certificate auction. Organisations can register through October 30. Under the I-REC Standard, each certificate represents the environmental attributes of one megawatt-hour of renewable or clean electricity.

The certificates will be offered through a competitive pay-as-bid process, with reserve prices set for solar, nuclear and wind certificates. EWEC is the scheme's single registrant and operator; Abu Dhabi's Department of Energy introduced it in 2021. The announcement did not state the auction volume or reserve prices.
