Toronto Pearson accessibility rehearsal draws more than 200 participants

Toronto Pearson said more than 200 people took part in its annual Ready, Set, Fly…with YYZ travel rehearsal, held with Autism Ontario and Air Transat. The airport said the exercise helps autistic and neurodivergent people become more familiar with air travel.

Participants were guided through airport steps including check-in, security screening, boarding and customs, and interacted with airport employees. The aim was to make a future trip more predictable and reduce uncertainty around the airport experience.

Toronto Pearson said this was the fourth year of the partnership. The release describes a familiarization event rather than passenger traffic or a measure of program outcomes; it does not break down attendance by age or provide an evaluation of longer-term effects.
