A free cardiac catheterization, angioplasty and stent-placement campaign began in Raqqa on October 19, according to SANA’s October 20 report. The Health Directorate coordinated the programme with the Syrian Doctors Syndicate and Modern Medicine Hospital, supported by the Syrian-German Medical Association SIGMA and al-Rowad Foundation.

A directorate official said more than 300 patients had been assessed. The four-day initiative aims to perform 20–30 angioplasty and stent procedures for patients unable to afford care; assessed patients are not the same as completed interventions. Treatment is taking place at Modern Medicine Hospital while a catheterization department at Raqqa National Hospital remains planned.
